Australia my home

This week I celebrated my two year anniversary of emigrating to Australia. And in a moment of inspired serendipity, Baz Luhrmann decided to release his film Australia on my anniversary. So I rallied a troupe of friends and we went to see this epic movie.




Unfortunately it was difficult to see beyond Nicole Kidman's hideously botoxed fish-lips to enjoy the actual film, but it was epic enough, depicted the aboriginal story with great emotion, and of course there were plenty of shots of the delicious Hugh Jackman looking rugged and totally hot, so that was pleasurable.

I've also made a silly little film on my regular stills camera, just giving you a guided tour around my garden and house, in case you're wondering where I live. I've lived here for nearly two years now, it's in Bondi about 5 minutes' walk from the beach, and it's got a huge great big garden which is good for barbecues, and recently, growing vegetables. It was all quite spontaneous but I hope it helps to give you a picture of where I live.



I'm living quite cheaply at the moment as I'm completely skint; I'm doing lots of exercise and getting ready for the summer, which is threatening to arrive despite the constant rain at the moment. Christmas party season is round the corner, but everyone is being somewhat subdued this year due to the Current Economic Climate, which is affecting everything, so I'll be doing more ocean swimming and similarly free stuff rather than having an extravagant Christmas, I feel. Looking forward to hooking up with some of you via Skype over the festival period.
